Steve and I have laughed about the ducks we have seen wandering around our back yard lately, wondering what they were doing here. Now we know.
Today I discovered a nest of eggs and a happy Mallard mother duck keeping them warm. I'm super excited to have some little ducklings wandering around our back yard. I don't think there is anything cuter in the whole world than a baby duck. I hope they don't stay too long, though, and find some nice pond to live in quick. I can be a good host to an expecting mama but I don't think our backyard is suitable for a whole flock of ducks.
It must have been the Mallard duck whirly-gig (my dad made) in our yard that convinced them this is a duck friendly home. Thanks Dad!
