The truth comes out

Me: "Okay Maddison. Get your shoes on. It is time to go to church."
Maddison: "Are we going to snack-er-meeting?"
Me: " Um, yup. That sounds about right."

Thanksgiving in Nevada

It took us all day but we finally arrived at Grandma Munk's house in Nevada. Sage was certainly glad to be out of her car seat.

Maddison made a turkey hat for the occasion.

Grandma liked the hat too.

Making dip with Grandma.

Maddison: "I am thankful for people."

There were games in the kitchen, dining room and front room.

There was also plenty of cuddle time.

Grandma took us to the lower valley where her family has farmed for generations.

It was beautiful and really had this white ethereal feel with dark ominous clouds.

Maddison loved Grandma's star lamp and had to sleep with it every night.

And then it was back in the car for the long ride home. Thanks to everyone who made this such a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a great time.

More funny stuff

Like all of us, Maddison sometimes sings the wrong lyrics to songs. Here are a few:
“has given me an earthly home with parents kind-of dear”
“ring around the rosies, pocket for my toesies”
“Book of morning stories that my teacher tells to me”

Giddy Up.

Maddison "Mom, I need some money."
Me "You do? Why? Are you going to buy something?"
Maddison "I'm going to get my horse and go buy some string cheese."

Birthday Fun

For my birthday we took the family and Grandpa and Grandma Pfost to the Glow exhibit at the museum of Idaho - all about glowing animals. I expected to see tanks of glowing fish and beautiful jellyfish but that was not the case. There wasn't a single live animal so it was a bit of a bust.

But there was a Maddison jelly fish.

And maybe a Dad jelly fish.

Oh, and a Maddison and Mom fire fly.

And Steve surprised me with these beautiful flowers  I love them!! I wish this is what my wedding bouquet looked like.  Steve sure knows exactly what I like. It was a great birthday. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Poor Piggy

No matter how many times I try to tell Maddison that the udders are part of the cow, she gets super concerned about the pig that has crawled under the cow and gotten stuck as she tries to pull it free. So funny!

Family Visit

Grandpa and Grandma Pope came to visit a few weeks ago and we had a great time playing and relaxing.

Maddison kept Grandpa extra busy playing, wrestling, and cuddling. Grandpa probably needed an extra long nap once he got home. Thanks for visiting Grandpa and Grandma. Come again soon!

Dinner Time

At dinner in an attempt to get Maddison to eat her food.
Me: “Maddison. Do you know what pirates love to eat? Peas and chicken. Can you eat your peas and chicken like a pirate?”
Maddison: “No. Pirates don’t eat peas and chicken.”
Me: “Oh. What do they eat?”
Maddison: “Chocolate chips.”

Rice Cereal

Sage got to sample her first mushy food today. And of course big sister Maddison wanted to help.

She thinks she is big enough to fee herself - Steve had a hard time getting the spoon away from her. She seemed to like it okay. I guess after eating this new food she had to sleep it off because she took an unscheduled nap...which is why she and I are now up so late blogging while the rest of the fam slumbers.

...but who could be mad at this face? Seriously.

Peek

Peek. Mom, I'm done with my nap.
