San Diego Beach

On our first evening in San Diego we wanted to check out the beach, with no intention to swim of course, just look and maybe play in the sand a little. I should have known I wasn't going to be able to keep the girls out of the water. Our hotel was right inside a small bay so we had a calm, no wave beach perfect for the littles.

Eventually we made it back with our swim suits and mermaid tail fins.

Our hotel offered free one hour sunset boat cruises in the bay. That sounded relaxing and romantic...

The girls were great for a few minutes and then they just wanted to run around wreaking havoc on all. The only thing that saved us was the dance party that started on the second floor. Maddison danced all her wiggles out while the music drowned out Sage's crying. Iv'e never been so happy to see a disco dance party.

its a little dark but hopefully you can get the idea,

See the World

Day 1 of our vacation. Well, more like day 4 since it took us 3 days to get here but we eventually arrived! After 3 days of travel we almost didn't make it to Sea World because Steve's phone kept thinking we wanted directions to "See the World" instead of "Sea World" but eventually we found it.

Shark petting zoo

Penguins!

Sea Lion

Beluga Whale

Eating snacks while waiting for the Killer Whale show to start.

Maddison picked out a stuffed penguin as her trip souvenir. The day was a little crazy with an almost  2 year old that hates sitting still and wants to just run around everywhere and screams if she doesn't get her way but we had a great time and are ready to cool off at the pool once we rest a little.

Easter 2016

Our Easter celebrations started with an Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Pfost's house

And then we went for a drive and stopped to feed the fish.

Thanks Grandpa for this cute photo!

Easter morning.

A few days later I overheard Maddison whispering to Sage who was lying on the floor: "I miss you. You died but don't worry. You will live again. You will be resurrected." I guess she was paying attention to our Family Home Evening lesson.

Spring Cravings

If I leave the pantry door open for even a second, this little one is on the search for a snack. So today we decided we needed some spring sugar cookies to satisfy all of our snacky cravings.

Sage was obviously a fan.

Maddison loved decorating her cookies which ended up one part cookie, one part frosting, one part sprinkles. The perfect ratio.

...and this happened, a lot.

Here are some of our creations.

Playing with cousins!

We got to play with cousins last weekend. Yeah! We loved having Pizza with the Pope's! Thanks for letting us come over!

Playing really wore Sage out.

These girls went crazy over the rides and super crazy over spending time with each other.

Telling secrets.

We also enjoyed some time with Grandma and Grandpa Pope. What a great weekend!

St. Patrick's Day!

We started off the morning with green pancakes. Sage thought they were pretty fun.

A leprechaun left some gold chocolate coins in our house and the girls were super excited to find them.

I could finally put Sage's hair in a pony tail so I guess that meant it was time to cut it.

Well, it was getting pretty mop-ish, which wasn't so bad except....

More often than not it looked a little like this.

Maddison needed a trim too. She was very serious the whole time.

Sage waited patiently for her turn.

I was totally nervous that Sage would not cooperate. I had a bag of distractions and I didn't have to use any of them. I have never seen her sit so still for so long. She was perfect the whole time!

 Maddie's turn to wait.

 Sage goofing off.

 Almost done.

It didn't end up exactly how I had envisioned in my head but haircuts never do. At least it is a little more tidy.

Cheep Cheep

I thought Maddison's Easter chick was pretty good.
