We have had a pretty rainy Memorial weekend but found a few hours of sunshine to take Maddison on her very first BBQ.
We have been adjusting to new parent life, trying to not go crazy with the lack of sleep and constant diaper changing. Maddison often likes to be awake when she should be sleeping and sleeps when it would be fine for her to be awake. Steve does all he can to help when she gets fussy in the middle of the night but in the end has to hand her over to Mom for what she really wants....to eat.
Some days I forget to even brush my teeth since my days don't seem to have a start or end...it's just one long cycle of napping, feeding and changing diapers. It is especially hard to keep track of time with all this daylight. The 4 am feeding could just as well be a 4 pm feeding with how light it is outside.
Despite this new difficult schedule, we are loving out little Maddison. She is so precious and lovable. She makes the cutest faces and can roll her tongue like a taco just like her Dad. She gets the hiccups at least twice a day, which she hates, and can do a Houdini act to free her arms from any swaddle or even clothing. And just for fun, here is a post-bath fish head photo.
Sounds crazy but fun!! She's adorable.
