Surprise!
Steve and I have laughed about the ducks we have seen wandering around our back yard lately, wondering what they were doing here. Now we know.
Today I discovered a nest of eggs and a happy Mallard mother duck keeping them warm. I'm super excited to have some little ducklings wandering around our back yard. I don't think there is anything cuter in the whole world than a baby duck. I hope they don't stay too long, though, and find some nice pond to live in quick. I can be a good host to an expecting mama but I don't think our backyard is suitable for a whole flock of ducks.
It must have been the Mallard duck whirly-gig (my dad made) in our yard that convinced them this is a duck friendly home. Thanks Dad!

Happy Birthday Maddie!
Our little girl turned three today. Three! It is amazing how they go from a tiny baby to a little girl in just three short years. We started our morning with strawberry waffles and then hit the indoor playground. Oh wait. First we had to clean up the small flood in our basement from a rain-filled window well and then we hit the playground.
Maddison got some new art supplies.
"giddy-up"
The highlight of the day was this sand and water table. Even Sage loved getting her hands in it.
A berry special cake!
What a party!
And because I didn't want her to be left out I'd thought I'd throw in a Sagie photo.

Super Star
I think we have a super star in the making on our hands. Maddison loves to sit and play the guitar while singing.

Visiting the farm.
We drove to Wyoming this weekend to visit our friend's, the Wilsons, farm.
Maddison had the most fun of anyone.
Digging up raspberry starts.
This is the Wilson's front yard. Not a bad view!
Thanks Wilsons for a great afternoon!

That's my girl.
Mom: “Oh Maddiosn, Why don’t you go
get a Kleenex for that.”
Maddison: “No, I just put it back in my nose.”
Maddison: “No, I just put it back in my nose.”

This weeks project
This week we are watching hair grow. I might even let her give this little egg a hair cut but I don't want to give her any ideas about giving herself a cut, or Sage...although Sage would probably benefit from a trim.
"Show me your surprised face."

Easter Dresses
The girls finally got to wear their Easter dresses on Sunday.
Trying to get them both to look at the camera at the same time was pretty much impossible. This is the best I could do.

Easter 2015
The Easter Bunny had no trouble finding our house this morning.
"Can I eat just one more piece of candy?...Can I eat just one more? Just one more? Just...?"
"Uh, where's the chocolate?"
Cinnamon Roll bunnies for breakfast. They were not so scary looking once I smothered them with cream cheese frosting.
Then we went to Grandpa and Grandma Pfost's for a delicious dinner, a little conference watching, a little game playing and a little Easter egg hunting. We all had a great time playing with Aunt Kelly too. Sage's nap schedule coincided perfectly with both sessions and Maddison stayed decently occupied so I think I saw more of conference this weekend than I have since Maddison was born. What a treat! Put that in an egg!
I enjoyed all the conference talks. Especially Elder Holland's when he reminded us why we celebrate Easter. “So today we celebrate the gift of victory over every fall we have ever experienced, every sorrow we have ever known, every discouragement we have ever had, every fear we have ever faced—to say nothing of resurrection from death and forgiveness for our sins.” What an inspiring and beautiful reminder of what our Savior has done for us. Happy Easter.
